Since it was established in 1991, the office of Amir Mann and Ami Shinar has been recognized in Israel for its uniqueness and search for excellence. The award winning work deals with a wide spectrum of projects, ranging from the design and planning of the urban, to residential neighborhoods, office, commercial, high-tech and public buildings.
The professional knowledge held within the office, allows us to contribute into each necessary factor of the design and building processes. Tailored specifically for each client's needs, we provide resources in all fields, from the initial development phases to the design of the interior and its details.
The aesthetics developed within the office is that of contrasts of materials uniting under a total composition of space. Within the projects one finds the unexpected meetings of the industrial and high-tech, with the natural, and the local - in respect to a given site and its history.
Recent projects include the new American Consulate General in Jerusalem, commissioned directly by the US Department of State, as well as The Eilat New Airport, a new Train Station for the city of Shderot in the south of Israel, and a third building for Mercury Interactive Headquarters in Yehud, Israel.
Other projects recently completed include the 70,000 sqm Maintenance and Logistics Center for Ben-Gurion International Airport, the 23,500 sqm new facility for IKEA furnishing company in Netanya, a residential tower in Tel Aviv, new neighborhoods in Nesher, Modiin, and Netanya.
The office, with a staff of 20, also has a branch in Boston, both offices cooperate in a variety of international projects.
Ami Shinar AIA, graduated the Technion, Israel Institute of Technology in 1975. Ami worked in Boston between 1985 to 1990 in the office of Tise Architects, and as an associate in the office of Todd Lee Associates. During this period Ami designed a residential project in Cambridge, Ma., a hotel in Mallorca, Spain, and other public buildings. During 1990-91, Ami served as Chief Architect of the Israeli Ministry of Housing, leading the planning of dozens of new neighborhoods and cities throughout Israel. From 2000, Ami has been teaching in the School of Architecture in Tel-Aviv Univeristy.
Amir Mann AIA, graduated the Technion, Israel Institute of Technology in 1976, and Harvard Graduate School of Design cum laude in 1983. Amir worked in Boston between 1979 to 1991 in the office of Moshe Safdie and Assoc., and as an associate in the office of Huygens Demilla Schaeffer. In this time, Amir has designed projects, ranging from commercial, office and public buildings, to large scale historic renovations in the cities of Lowell and Charlestown, Massachusetts, as well as health-care projects in the US, Canada, Australia, and Singapore. From 1998, Amir has been teaching in the Faculty of Architecture at the Technion.
